Grey cast iron you can rely on. We know because we test it for strength, durability. It’s one of the steps we take to make sure you receive nothing but the best.

Foundry

The cast iron production process begins with our furnaces. Powered with electricity, oxygen and natural gas, they fire at up to 1,500°C and melt our raw materials down into a mix perfectly balanced for cast iron. Our moulding line produces green sand blocks using fine sand grains, ensuring absolute precision in your cast iron product.

Furnaces:

  • 4 oxygen/natural gas rotary furnaces, each with a melting capacity of 20 tonnes/2.5 hours.
  • 1 induction holding furnace with a capacity of 7 tonnes

Moulding Lines:

  • 1 Disamatic 270A – With a maximum of 400 moulds/hour, suitable for moulds with dimensions of up to 950 X 700 X 650 mm.
  • We use 0.16 mm-diameter green sand for our moulds.

Pouring Devices:

  • Our Disamatic moulding lines has its own pouring machine and individual laser-controlled stopper rod system.

Laboratory:

  • Spectral-analysis machine.
  • Tensile strength-testing machine.
  • 2 HB hardness testing machines.

Iron Specifications:

  • Grey cast iron: EN-GJL 150-300.
  • Special cast iron alloys, available with extra resistance to wear and tear, heat or impact.
  • Casting weight range: 0.1 – 30 kg.

Pattern shop

The main ingredients in pattern plates? Accuracy and expertise. All the pattern plates, toolings and JIGS designed and created by Dovre are made by our highly experienced specialists and your input. With digital technology and 3D design programs, you will be able to see your ideas translate onto the computer screen at the hands of our experts. Afterwards, our milling cutter machine will cut your aluminum pattern plates with ultimate precision.

Processing & Assembly

After your newly cast iron cools down, the green sand moulds are shaken loose to leave your cast iron product ready for shot blasting . Fully cleaned and polished, the examination and testing phase begins. Our committed team carefully assembles everything by hand ensuring the legal requirements for your country or product are exactly followed. We also follow the supervision and quality guidelines set by the Dovre group, your assurance for knowledgeable, careful construction. If your product requires parts from third parties, you can ask us to make any necessary arrangements. From glass to locking systems and everything in between.

The mechanical production line

Our production team works aligned with a high-tech production system:

  • Mitutoyo 3D measuring machine with a range of 850 x 700 x 600 mm.
  • Tensile strength testing machine.
  • Hardness testers.

Packaging & Shipping

Fully assembled and virtually glowing with a top-quality finish, your product looks as good as you dreamt it would. Make sure it stays this way. With proper packaging you can protect your cast iron from scratches, impact and other forms of damage.
